Volleyball England Young Coach of the Year

Lincoln Cannons Volleyball Club is delighted to announce that the Club Head coach Navaz Sutton has been named Volleyball Englands Young Coach of the Year

Naz received this award for his years of service to the development of volleyball as a whole in the county with focus on his work in developing the junior side of the game. Naz’s work within the Regional Talent Development programme has won him great respect with many other top coaches. This has allowed him the chance to be an assistant coach at many England Cadet camps and gave him a fantastic chance early in his coaching career to be the assistant coach for England South in the UK School Games 2007 under the leadership of Carol Gordon (England Cadets Coach). In 2008 he was given the chance to lead his own team (England North) into the UK School Games.

His talents don’t stop there, he has developed our club from a team of 5 regular players just managing to play all there games in local league to having a club that has 30+ members on the books from juniors to adults, 4 adult teams and has the view of pushing forward again in the next few years to have the first National League Side running out of Lincoln for a long time. As well as this the club has also sailed through Volley1 accreditation and is looking like passing Volley2 with out a problem.

He has done all of the above as a volunteer and no where is his presence needed, wanted and appreciated more than in our club. The club as a whole owes a lot to this young man and if he doesn’t already know, all of us at Lincoln Cannons Volleyball Club and anyone associated with the club are very proud of you. All the best in your future coaching career.
